Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 15, 2026
This website is operated by Tipsy Market, LLC, doing business as Santa Barbara Public Market. This policy applies to sbpublicmarket.com and related website forms for Santa Barbara Public Market, 28Vic, and La Amada. It explains what information we collect, why we use it, how it is disclosed and retained, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
We collect information you choose to provide when you contact us, request private-event information, request or book a date, or sign up for event updates. Depending on the form, this may include:
- Your name, email address, and telephone number.
- Event type, preferred dates, guest count, planning and billing contacts, and messages or other inquiry details.
- Your acknowledgement of applicable website terms and privacy notices.
Please do not submit payment-card information, government identifiers, medical information, or other sensitive information through a general website form.
Information collected for operation and security
Our servers and security providers process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP address, browser and device information, request time, requested page, and security signals. We have configured Drupal Webform not to retain the submitter's IP address as part of the stored form submission, although limited server and security logs may be retained for operational and security purposes.
How we use information
- Respond to questions and private-event inquiries.
- Evaluate date availability and prepare or administer requested event services.
- Send confirmations and information requested through a form.
- Send event and promotional emails when you use a form that clearly offers those updates.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the safety of our guests, vendors, and community.
The event-update form authorizes event and promotional emails. The requested phone number may be used for event follow-up or a callback, but submission does not authorize marketing text messages. You may unsubscribe from promotional email at any time.
Analytics, cookies, and similar technologies
We use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic. Our standard Plausible implementation does not use cookies or persistent identifiers and does not track visitors across websites or across days.
Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical and security signals when protecting a form from automated abuse. The website stores a small amount of information in your browser's local storage so it works as you expect: when you close the event-update popup, it is not shown again for 14 days, and after you sign up it is not shown again unless you clear your browser storage. Your light or dark display preference is stored the same way. This information stays in your browser, is not sent to us, and is not used for advertising or to track you across websites. Authorized staff who sign in to manage the website use a session cookie that is required for sign-in.
We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, or advertising cookies on this website.
Service providers and disclosures
We disclose information only as reasonably needed to operate the website and respond to requests. Providers may include website and Drupal hosting, Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) for email delivery, Cloudflare Turnstile for form security, Calendly for tour scheduling, Bunny.net for video and media delivery, and Plausible Analytics for aggregate measurement. Form notifications are delivered to authorized Santa Barbara Public Market or event-team email accounts, and inquiry details may be recorded in internal business tools, such as spreadsheets, used to manage requests and events. Providers process information under their own contractual and legal obligations.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transaction. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention
Completed website form submissions are generally retained for no more than 24 months. Related booking, contract, transaction, correspondence, security, and legal records may be retained separately for longer when reasonably needed for operational, accounting, dispute-resolution, safety, or legal purposes. We will delete or restrict records when required by applicable law or when an approved privacy request is not subject to a valid retention exception.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No online service or email transmission can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or withdraw from optional communications. The availability of particular rights depends on applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so the website does not provide a sale or sharing opt-out mechanism. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide any legally required choice.
California residents
California privacy rights and business obligations depend on the scope and thresholds of applicable law. We will honor verified requests and provide required notices when a law applies to our processing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
Children
This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, services, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date when changes are material.
